7 pm – Confronting Third Culture

Presentation by Slovene artist Maša Jazbec on her work and its political aspects.

 

7.30 pm – Film works by Floris Kaayk

Screening and talk

The order Electrus, 2010

The Origin of Creatures, 2005

After the screening, the author, artist Floris Kaayk, will present his new work Human Bridwings.

 

8.30 pm – Social and Institutional Perspectives on the Third Culture

Presentation by Vera Penz – Social Impact Award followed by discussion with Remco Schuurbiers – CTM and Olof Van Vinden – TodaysArt.

Vera Penz will discuss Vienna’s Social Impact Award which is an innovative project that raises wider questions about technology and society. Following this, two respected international festival organisers will give us their perspectives on the Third Culture.

 7 pm – Illuminating & Installing the Third Culture. Media in flux.

with Oli Sorenson, Mike Rijnierse, Gabey Tjon a Tham.

Three contemporary artists explore various aspects of the Third Culture as it manifests in their work.

 

8.30 pm – Dutch perspectives on the third culture

Discussion with Olga Mink – Baltan Laboratories and Arjon Dunnewind – Impakt Festival

The Netherlands is a key centre of activity for the presentation and development of the Third Culture. Curators Olga Mink and Arjon Dunnewind will discuss their work and explore the specific qualities of the Dutch situation.
