Gurvinder Singh, Indian filmmaker and writer talks about his new feature film “Alms for a Blind Horse” (2011). The movie is set in Punjabi region and it is based on a novel with the same title written by Gurdial Singh. Gurvinder talks about the idea to create a movie from this book and his personal interest in the story of the region Punjabi in India.

“...in Manila you see slums everywhere but maybe the working class and the upper class tend to blind themselves from this reality. So they were very thankful to see the movie.”

Khavn, writer, musician and filmmaker, talks about his latest movie, his 34th feauture film “Mondomanila” (2012) and its different aspects. The original idea, the message that the movie communicates, the relations with the crew and the impressions of the audience. In the interview we discussed different levels and segments of such multi-creativity: such as making of one-day flicks, the process of writing novels and the role that music plays in his various works. Also, how the everyday reality of Manila, along with its cult independent and underground cinema scene influenced his style.

“…in a way I did everything that I didn’t do in television in my own film, because I was very frustrated as a director, because I had many ideas in terms of story, in terms of visual ideas, ways of shooting, that I wanted to explore...“

The British director Joanna Hogg talks about herself and the development of her career during the years. Joanna explains her experience in television directing and her necessity to express the artistic aim in her works. She also talks about her last movie, “Archipelago” (2010). The story set in Cornwall is a story of relational problems between members of a family.

"First of all it was a personal dream I wanted to share, I dreamed about flying since I was a little boy, so I thought I want to realize this dream..I know that many people thought this was a joke but that wasn't the purpose."

Floris Kaayk, a filmmaker from The Hague, talks about his last project, a story called “Human birdwings”. Kaayk made a series of videos to document the realisation of the first human wings created by a fictional character Jarno Smeets. Thanks to a blog, a Youtube channel and social networks, the story was believed and shared with millions of people. Following the great success of the videos, Kaayk publicly declared that the project was a fictional story intended as a trans-medium experiment that could was made possible thanks to the power of network sharing.
