An interview with Blanka Earhart was recorded on the occasion of Biennale for art and technology Meta.Morf in Trondheim, Norway.

Blanka Earhart, media artist and writer usually creates concept driven artworks (short films, installations, lately a lot of web art) in which she manifests our relationship to the actual physical world and virtual reality and how we can actually negotiate these spaces. She talks about finding a better way to interact with theses particular spaces where we can actually invest ourselves in more honest and involved ways. As she says, medium of the web requires the certain mode of critical thinking and criticism and the artists should be involved on more critical level, not just like the users without any thinking.

In my previous I dealt actually a lot with the social networking for example and just kind of made a couple of pieces that commented on the fact that maybe the relationships that we are trying to make on the web are a little bit superficial and we are not investing ourselves in to our representations on a web as much as the commercial companies would like or as much as you know, the main discours would suggest that we are doing it.
