Maša Jazbec starts this talk with a short introduction of Artium Speculum Festival in Trbovlje. She the presents her last work, an interactive installation called “Monolith”(2012) . The public is the focal point of this work, as Monolith can reproduce a digital image of people approaching this installation. This work can be seen as a chance to discuss the importance of the digital world nowdays and the ripercussion of this in the analog world. The work stimulates a series of questions about the existence of the individual in the digital space, the importance of new media art and the relationship between techologies and humans.

This talk was recorded during Artist Talk: The Third Culture symposium, in november 2012.

Robert Glashüttner was interviewed at ARS Electronica in Linz, more precisely at mobile studio of Radio FM4. He was talking mainly about this youth culture-oriented radio station with very clear philosophy- to build an alternative radio by being engaged, interested in things and going deeper into the subjects.

The mission of FM4 is to build an alternative radio culture, alternative to mainstream pop culture in different ways. We cover music, we cover politics, we cover movies, books, we cover videogames, but in a different way. We try to find different products, different people, different aspects of things. So not just to look at service thinks, but to go deeper.

Their mission is to cover digital media in a broad way and reach out to all different fields, so apart from the radio they have their own website with their own web-hosts, writers which are exclusively on their website, web-stream, podcast and videos.
